Dear SUNY Empire faculty and staff,
When you're asking a copyright question, you probably want your confidentiality to be protected. As librarians, we are ethically obligated to protect your privacy and confidentiality. However, our email systems can keep records even after we delete them.
I want to make it extremely clear that as a copyright educator, it is not my role to relay any information about faculty, staff, or student questions or concerns having to do with copyright to anyone, and certainly not to SUNY Empire's administration, copyright owners, or legal authorities. My role is to increase compliance with copyright law by helping you understand it and find workable solutions to copyright dilemmas. To do that effectively, I need you to feel safe coming to me for help.
Please feel free to leave your name and email blank when using the reference chat box!
If you want to use email or the Question Form below, please feel free to create a fake email address using any of these free webmail services and just put "SUNY Empire Copyright Question" where it says Question in the form below, or in the email header.
I appreciate any feedback about how to make our copyright education and support program more helpful and convenient for you.
Sincerely,
Sarah Morehouse
Librarian and Assistant Director of Instructional Support and Collection Management
