Accessibility in the Online Library: Home

A guide to using accessibility features built into library subscription resources. If you need to request accommodations for library content, please contact Accessibility Resources and Services at https://www.sunyempire.edu/accessibility/

Understanding Online Library Resources

  • The SUNY Empire Online Library comprises both freely available Web resources and paid subscription collections. Most of our subscription resources are provided by a handful of library vendors.
  • Below, you will find links to the accessibility help pages for those vendors to help users navigate, search, and use screen readers with these resources.
  • When searching in the Online Library, note the name of the database or collection's vendor, usually near the top of the page. Then, visit the vendor's accessibility help guide linked below for tips on effectively navigating and using that resource.

If you need to request accommodations for library content, on the basis of a disability or accessibility needs, please contact Accessibility Resources and Services by emailing them at Disability.Services@sunyempire.edu. Requests for accommodations should be submitted as early as possible to allow for sufficient planning. If you have questions, please visit the Accessibility Resources and Services website.
