Interlibrary Loan

You'll often encounter articles in our databases that have abstracts but no full-text. You can request those through Interlibrary Loan.

  1. Either go to Interlibrary Loan directly, log in with your Empire username and password, and fill out the form with the journal title, volume, issue, page numbers, and article title, or
  2. when you click on the title and scroll down, instead of a list of what databases have the full text, you will see the link Request from another library via interlibrary loan. Click that, and the form will be filled out for you automatically.

Interlibrary loan generally takes between a couple hours and a couple days to fill requests on business days. Articles are delivered in PDF format. The service is free to you and there is no limit on how many articles you can order. (But please don't order items you don't need. It's free to you, not free to the library.)
