POLI 3065: International Relations: Scavenger Hunt Assignment

Course Guide for POLI 3065 International Relations and Politics

Scavenger Hunt Assignment

Guidelines for scavenger hunt

This exercise is designed to develop some of your research skills as they pertain to audio and visual resources.

We ask you to do several things:

  • Identify and share a visual or audio resource or artifact that matches one of the course learning outcomes or module tasks. These can come in the form of maps, charts, graphs, podcasts, interviews, or some other medium.
  • Explain why it matches or does not match that outcome.
  • Explain why you chose it and how it helps you understand the material in the module.
  • Explain why it is or isn’t a reliable or reputable source, whether or not it comes from an academic publication. You may also explain what you would want to see that would make it a better source. This is useful as we try to distinguish better among real and fake sources, sources with distinct ideological or partisan biases, and develop an understanding of the wide range of resources that succeed in swaying opinion on complex political issues.

You can use the list of existing sources that are provided in the course, or you can find another source on your own. Whatever you choose to do, you must meet all the above expectations for the assignment.

Remember to cite your source or sources and give appropriate credit where credit is due.

The assignment should include the artifact, with a proper citation. The written explanation supporting the points should be about 500-750 words.
