These videos are chunks taken from a clean recording of a webinar given to SUNY faculty and staff. As SUNY Empire faculty and staff, there are three things you should keep in mind when watching these videos:
- Regarding the TEACH Act, SUNY Empire is compliant and we can take advantage of it.
- Regarding a copyright office, SUNY Empire does not have one, and the library is not staffed to function as one. Individual developers must seek copyright permissions themselves. Sarah Morehouse in the library can provide you with answers to questions about what is legal versus illegal/gray area.
- Regarding ownership of your copyright, SUNY Empire is a SUNY institution, and we follow the SUNY Board of Trustees rule about academic content. This means that if you're faculty or professional staff and you created a work of scholarship, a course, or a learning object, the copyright belongs to you. If you develop a course under a letter of agreement, the copyright is assigned according to the terms of the letter of agreement.
