Learning Objectives

Once you’ve completed this module, you’ll be able to:

  • understand that copyright is a matter of federal and international law
  • list and define the rights that are reserved to the rightsholder
  • distinguish things that can be copyrighted from those that cannot
  • explain the two factors that determine if and when a work can be copyrighted
  • understand that copyright can be transferred 
  • understand that there are specific exemptions to copyright
