The Library Offers Consultations via MS Teams

by Sara Hull on 2025-03-17T15:05:00-04:00 | 0 Comments

Most library questions can be answered quickly via chat, phone, email, or text. If your library question is more complex, you can schedule a 30-minute library consultation with a librarian via Microsoft Teams.

When is scheduling a 30-minute consultation the better choice?

*your research question is more complex in nature (e.g., graduate level, multidisciplinary, faculty scholarship)
*you've already worked with a librarian and still find yourself struggling to track down what you need
*you're having problems with library technology that do not have a quick fix

A consultation with a librarian allows you to explain in greater detail what you need, what you've tried, and where you are struggling. With details you provide before your appointment, the librarian can do some advance preparation to make the best use of your time. Consultations might begin with a Microsoft Teams meeting and include follow-ups via Teams or email.

If a Teams meeting isn't feasible for you during available appointment hours, we can conduct the consultation entirely via email. In that case, just email librarian@sunyempire.edu with specifics, and we will put you in touch with a librarian who can help you.
