LexisNexis Academic is a major database for: 1. business research (company profiles, industry info, etc.) 2. Legal research (cases, statutes, law review articles) 3. Newspapers

What is Nexis Uni?

Nexis Uni is the new name for Lexis Nexis Academic. It is the same tool as before, but with a different interface and display. This tool is primarily for locating legal (case law, law review journals, etc.) and company information (profiles, financials, and more), but there is a wide variety of documents that can be found here, including news information.

How to get to Nexis Uni:

  1. Go to the Online Library at http://www.esc.edu/library
  2. Click "Article Databases" (located below the Subject Guides area on left side).
  3. Scroll down the alphabetical list (or click 'N' from list) and click Nexis Uni. Log in with your Empire login and password.
  4. Note: in order to save searches, set search alerts, save documents to a folder for later use, or to share documents with others, you will need to register for the free Nexis Uni Account. You can do this at any time using the "Sign In / Register" link in the top right of any page within the database.
